Short Biography
Georgios Petasis has extensive experience in language technology and, in particular, shallow information extraction techniques. Having performed basic and applied research for the last 15 years, he has published work in the areas of named-entity recognition, information extraction, ontology learning, linguistic resources, speech synthesis, natural language infrastructures, grammatical inference and machine learning. He is the author of the Ellogon language engineering platform and the eg-GRIDS+ grammatical inference algorithm. Finally, he has been involved in more than ten European and national research projects. |
