Ellogon Requirements

Requirements for installing binary distributions:

In order to install and use binary distributions of Ellogon, the following requirements must be met by the system where Ellogon will run:

  • 40 MB of free disk space.
  • One of the following operating systems: Linux (GCC 3.x based, i.e. Redhat Linux 8, 9, Fedora Core 1), Microsoft Windows (98 SE, Millenium, NT 4.0, 2000, XP), Sun Solaris (6 or newer).
  • Tcl/Tk 8.4 installed. Any version newer than 8.4 will suffice, but it would be better to use the latest distribution available. Binary distributions of Tcl/Tk can be downloaded from http://www.tcl.tk
  • Sun JRE 1.4.1 or newer, if Ellogon's Java mode will be enabled. (Optional)
  • Perl 5.8 or newer, if Ellogon's Perl mode will be enabled. We suggest a binary distribution from Active State. (Optional)
  • Python 2.2 or newer, if Ellogon's Python mode will be enabled. We suggest a binary distribution from Active State. (Optional)
